Blessed Stanley RotheR - Padre Apla's

In the early morning hours of July 28, 1981, Fr. Stanley Rother, native of Okarche (oh-KAR-chee), Oklahoma, gave his life as a martyr out of love for God and the indigenous poor that he served in Guatemala. His story is a great beacon of light in our times, the story of a man who inspired hope in a time of desperation, a story of a faithful priest remaining committed to his call as a shepherd, and a story of courage to love those around you, even when it’s inconvenient and difficult.
